“I thought the Tokyo Olympics was the last… This will be the last time.”

Wear the Taegeuk mark for the 10th time and challenge the ‘Last Dance’.

Kim Hyeon-soo (35) of the LG Twins served as the captain of the World Baseball Classic (WBC) national team today to be held in March. This is his 10th appearance for the national team after joining the professional team. No player in the KBO League has served the country more than Kim Hyun-soo.

Starting with the 2008 Beijing Olympic team, 2nd WBC in 2009, 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, 3rd WBC in 2013, 2014 Incheon Asian Games, 2015 1st Premier12, 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, 2019 The 2nd Premier 12 and the 2021 Tokyo Olympics were marked with the Taegeuk mark. It is highly likely that the 5th WBC national team will be Kim Hyun-soo’s last Taegeuk mark.

Kim Hyun-soo, whom I met at the Arizona camp in the United States, said, ‘Taegeuk mark 10 times is not an ordinary number. When I said, “You can be proud of yourself,” he said, “I think I’ve come a long way. My pride is, I just think that the fans looked at me favorably,” he laughed. As the captain of the national team, he asked his teammates, “Because I’m representing the country, I just want to act appropriately.”

안전놀이터 – I’m participating in the 10th national team.

The national team has been selected, so I do my best. (Taegeuk mark) It’s heavy. You have to endure it, you have to overcome it. I thought Tokyo (Olympics) would be my last, but since I was selected again, I really think it will be my last. There are more players who are better than me, so I wonder if those players will go out next time. Next time (I) won’t be old enough. I want to do well at the end.
