On the 4th, the K-League 1 Pohang Steelers, a professional soccer team, announced that they had recruited Baek Seong-dong (32) from Anyang.

Baek Seong-dong drew attention by playing an active part in the national team for each age group. He competed in the 2010 AFC U-19 Championship, 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup and 2014 AFC U-22 Championship. Baek Seong-dong was also selected for the 2012 London Olympic team and contributed to winning a bronze medal.

Baek Sung-dong made his professional debut in 2012 with Jubilo Iwata in the Japanese J-League. After that, Baek Seong-dong, who went through Sagan Tosu and V-Varen Nagasaki, returned to Korea in 2017.

Although he returned to Korea, Baek Seong-dong could not get out of the 2nd division for 5 years. After playing for Suwon FC and Gyeongnam, Baek Sung-dong played for Anyang last year.

Baek Seong-dong, who led Anyang to the K-League 2 playoffs, caught the attention of Pohang in the first division, and Pohang called Baek Sung-dong into the first division.

Baek Seong-dong can play an active role in any position in the second line, such as a side striker, a slow striker, or an attacking midfielder. Pohang introduced that he has all the virtues of an attacker, such as speed, breakthrough using dribbling, and bold shooting.

Pohang’s plan is to use Baek Sung-dong to try a faster and bolder finish in the attack.

Baek Seong-dong joins the Pohang winter training held at the Songra Clubhouse and matches hands and feet with the existing Pohang players.
