Shohei Ohtani (29, Los Angeles Angels) has missed a couple of starts and has been asked about his next mound appearance.
The Orange County Register, a local Los Angeles media outlet, reported on Sunday (July 17) that LA Angels general manager Phil Nevin was quoted as saying about Ohtani’s upcoming start.
According to the report, Ohtani is scheduled to start a home game against the Cincinnati Reds on April 24. It’s not 100% confirmed yet, but there’s a good chance he’ll take the mound that day.
Ohtani was originally scheduled to start on Sunday against the Texas Rangers. However, it was reported on Thursday that he will not start that day due to recent fatigue.
This is not due to injury. It was due to the fatigue that Ohtani has been experiencing since the opening day of the season, when he had a doubleheader. 메이저사이트
As a result, Ohtani will make his first start in 14 days against the San Francisco Giants on April 10. The 13 days of rest will be beneficial for Ohtani.
However, while Ohtani will be resting as a pitcher, he will also be batting. He added a single against Texas on Sept. 16 and was in the starting lineup on Sept. 17.
Through the 16th, Ohtani had pitched in 22 games this season, throwing 130 2/3 innings, with a 10-5 record and a 3.17 ERA. He has 165 strikeouts.
As a hitter, he’s also been on fire, batting .302 with 41 home runs, 84 RBIs, 91 runs scored, 134 hits, a .405 slugging percentage and a 1.061 OPS in 119 games.
