Daegu FC star Sejingya is leading the fan vote for the Team K League squad to face Atletico Madrid (Spain).
According to the Korea Football Association (KFA) on Wednesday, Sejingya received 38,128 votes in the Team K League Fan Eleven poll for the Coupang Play Series, which began on May 5, placing him at the top of the 44-player field.
The Team K League squad, which will face Atletico Madrid (Spain) at the Seoul World Cup Stadium on May 27, will be composed of 11 Fan Eleven and 11 ‘Pick Eleven,’ for a total of 22 players.
The Fan Eleven are the 11 players selected through fan voting. Based on the best eleven submitted by each of the 12 K League 1 clubs, the technical committee selected a quadruple quota. One goalkeeper, four defenders, three midfielders, and three strikers will be selected from the quadruple nominees with the most votes.
Sejingya topped the midfield category, followed by Baek Seung-ho (32,503 votes, North Korea) and Bae Jun-ho (27,776 votes, Daejeon). Bae Joon-ho’s rise to the top of the polls can be seen in his performance at the U20 World Cup in Argentina last month.
In the forward category, Lee Seung-woo (Suwon FC) leads with 30,451 votes, followed by Na Sang-ho (28,475 votes, Seoul) and Lee In-gyu (27,359 votes, Ulsan).
In the defense category, Seol Young-woo (Ulsan) leads with 27,330 votes, followed by Anton (Daejeon) with 27,192 votes. Chung Tae-wook (26,797 votes, Jeonbuk), Lee Ki-je (26,714 votes, Suwon), and Kim Young-kwon (26,171 votes, Ulsan) are also highly favored to be selected for Team K League. 메이저놀이터
In the goalkeeper category, Daejeon Hana Citizen’s Lee Chang-geun took the top spot with 33,586 votes, ahead of Ulsan Hyundai’s Cho Hyun-woo (21,990).
After the Fan Eleven results are announced, the coaching staff, including head coach Hong Myung-bo and coach Choi Won-kwon, will select the 11 Pick Eleven.
